by Daphne Russell, Arizona Sidewinders Head Coach
#51 Kay Powell

"Kay Powell is a fierce competitor—dialed in, consistent, and reliable. She's one of our captains, and she leads by example.
On offense, Kay understands what the team needs and executes it with unwavering determination. She reads the field clearly, positions herself exactly where the offense needs her, and delivers throws with reliable precision. She's a formidable opponent because she stays present under pressure, makes the simple play when it matters, and coordinates with cutters to keep flow moving. She's the handler you want when it matters most because she's grounded, focused, and determined to execute.
On defense, Kay brings that same fierce competitive edge. She's dialed in from the first pull, reading matchups, understanding priorities, pursuing with relentless determination. Her reliability is her superpower on defense: teammates know exactly where she'll be, what she'll do, and that she'll execute it.
As captain, she sets the standard through her own performance: Fierce, consistent, determined."
#27 Janet Wan

"Janet Wan is powerful and tough, a present danger on both offense who brings unstoppable intensity to every point. Janet's offensive game matches her defensive dominance. She executes with intensity and power with precise cuts, determined pursuit of space, and relentless drive.
She's consistent in her execution, reliable when it matters, and determined to finish plays. Her ability to bring that same fierce energy to offense makes her a multi-dimensional threat who can't be stopped once she commits to a direction.
On defense, Janet is just as relentless, she executes pressure that disrupts offensive flow. She reads what's developing, positions to deny it systematically, and pursues with unwavering determination. She she stays present, locked in, executing her role with the kind of intensity that makes offenses uncomfortable. She doesn't just play defense: she pressures and denies space for opponetns. She doesn't just mark her person, she shuts them down. On both sides of the disc, Janet is powerful, consistent, and a determined present danger."
#81 Lexi Lambert

"Lexi Lambert is being pulled up from practice player to a rostered spot, and she's ready.
She's fast, quick-minded, intense, with the kind of athleticism that changes defensive matchups. On defense, watch her fast hands for blocking and fast feet for hunting down opponents. She reads what's happening in real-time, reacts before opponents expect it, and executes with sharp intensity. Her speed isn't just physical—it's mental. She processes the game quickly, commits decisively, and attacks with relentless pursuit.
On offense, Lexi brings that same quick-minded intensity. She understands space, moves with purpose, and attacks vertically with the kind of speed that defenders struggle to match. She processes quickly and executes decisively—no wasted motion, no hesitation, just pure aggressive execution.
Lexi is the kind of player who comes in with something to prove and brings that energy every point. Fast hands, fast feet, fast mind. She's earned her roster spot through relentless effort and sharp execution. Now she gets to prove it on the field."
